Resha Vo named McLain Teacher of the Year

Resha Vo is the 2025-2026 McLain High School Teacher of the Year!

Resha has taught special education at McLain for eleven years. We asked her a few questions to learn more about her and her time in Tulsa Public Schools.

What led you to a career in education?

While working in corporate America, I was a Junior Achievement volunteer for 10 years serving over 500 students and receiving the Volunteer of the Year award in 2005. After retiring from that career, I continued to follow my passion for supporting students by volunteering in schools whenever I could.

Teaching brings me more joy than any career I’ve ever had. It gives me the chance to share my experiences with students and reflect on just how far technology has come. I truly cherish the relationships I build with my students and their families, and I’m honored that they trust my professionalism and guidance as I support their child’s education.

What is your favorite thing about your work?

I wake up each day with a sense of excitement, eager to explore, learn, and grow alongside my students.

What is one thing you are passionate about outside of teaching?

Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my family, exploring new places, camping, going for runs, and enjoying a good theatre performance whenever I get the chance.
